Mitsubishi Aircraft sets up Quality Assurance Department
in Illinois to strengthen interaction with MRJ program partners
Le Bourget, France, June 19, 2013 -
Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation America, Inc, that is US entity and 100% subsidiary of Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation, has established a Quality Assurance Department in it's Chicago Offices located in Schaumburg, Illinois, commenced operations on June 17, 2013. Seventeen major MRJ program partners are located in the US. Thus, Mitsubishi Aircraft aims to strengthen its collaboration with these partners through the creation of this Department, enabling smoother handling of MRJ equipment QT (Qualification Tests) and inspection.
Until recently, quality management of overseas partners was conducted in Japan, but with the increase in QT and inspections, Mitsubishi Aircraft concluded that a QCD（Quality, Cost, Delivery） site located near MRJ partners would facilitate timely partner updates and issue resolution.
The Department's functions are a newly added function to Mitsubishi Aircraft America's Chicago Office supply chain management (SCM) team that will enhance supply chain activities including procurement, schedule management, and overall, more effective operations in the U.S.
A European-based QCD control site is also being considered for the future, as well. In the meantime, Mitsubishi Aircraft foresees a stronger QCD system by commencing with an office in the United States.
